Howdy!
August 16, 2005
Well, it's later than I thought, but the comic is up! Right now, I'm really pleased with it.
I think the pacing works, and panels 1 & 2 came out better than I expected.
Though it hasn't really shown here, I have been fairly busy with Stickopolis related items.
No, really, I have. First, I had the project of Doom. I thought it would take only a week,
but that proved to be just a wee bit optimistic.
What was the project of doom? I'm glad you asked.
Lame Mage Productions is producing a module for
the super-hero role-playing game Mutants and Masterminds,
(web-site here)
and I'm producing several strips. Check it out, if you dare.
And I have been working on Stickopolis, mostly on the backend. Updating a comic touches something
like six files, between the archives and the index and the RSS files, and being the nerd
that I am, I finally put in some automation so that this main page will be the only one
I have to manually edit. Automation is good, at least when it works.
This strip also marks a couple of experiments, one in how I lay it out for drawing, and the
other in the panel borders. The plan is to reduce overhead so that I spend less and less
time on site maintenance and strip preparation, and more time on actually doing the comic.
We'll see if it works, but I have high hopes.
And remember kids, I'm a professional now. Hah!
